Mac Saturn Takes Over Boston

By: Madison Avery

Looking for an electric night full of live music that will have you dancing the night away? Well, Mac Saturn has got you covered. The band is from Detroit, Michigan and staying true to their roots you can expect a funky rock show with a hint of motown. Mac Saturn is made up of Carson Macc (lead vocals), Mike Moody (lead guitar), Nick Barone (rhythm guitar), Jive Moses (bass), Angelo Coppola (drums), and Evan Mercer (keys). After supporting Dirty Honey last summer on tour, the band has begun their own North America headlining tour this year with supporting act Billy Tibbals band.

When the band took the stage the crowd was immediately responsive. Lead singer Carson Macc comes bursting through the curtain, running to his mic stand and the show has started. From start to finish, the crowd and the band feed off each other’s energy, making the room full of excitement and a good time. The colored lights give a retro feel and the disco ball was the cherry on top. They performed songs off their ep ‘Until The Money Runs Out’ as well as unreleased songs. The chemistry these six guys have together is rare, they know how to put on a flawless show.

The key to a great live show is a front man who knows how to work the crowd, which Carson executes perfectly. With his sultry and flashy stage presence, he draws the audience in and has them in the palm of his hand all night.

Each member adds their own personal touch to the show. Guitar duo Nick and Mike with their snazzy Gibson’s help hold down the left and right side of the stage. You can count on Jive to deliver the most groovy bass lines all night. Heartbeat of the band, Angelo keeps everyone on track and always gives it his all. Keyboard king Evan adds the right amount of pazazz to every song and Carson cracks open his magical briefcase filled with an array of instruments.

Ending the night with their song ‘Plain Clothes Gentleman’ and exiting the stage, the crowd wasn’t ready to end the night. “One more song!” could be heard chanting throughout the room.  Mac Saturn made an exception for Boston and performed one more song.

Mac Saturn nails the 70’s aesthetic and is guaranteed to blow your socks off. Catch them on the remaining dates of ‘Until The Money Runs Out’ tour to have the night of your life. It’s a show you don’t want to miss and they will have you coming back for more.
