girlhouse releases newest single 'worth it'

In early March, girlhouse released worth it, their first single of the year. Although they’re known for their bedroom indie pop, girlhouse is no stranger to pop rock and worth it might be a sign that their new music will be leaning in that direction.

girlhouse lyrics tend to give a freshness to personal experiences - delivering sad lines that sound introspective rather than depressing. worth it is no different. The heart of the song is found in the pre-chorus “Let me show you I'm worth it, worth it” expressing the inner turmoil of needing to prove yourself to someone, especially when they might not deserve it. The simplicity of the lyrics and melody let the production really shine through - the strong guitar and drums are the stars of the single.

Over the past few years, girlhouse has become an indie favorite touring as a supporting act for artists such as Halsey, Sabrina Carpenter, and most recently Copeland. Hopefully worth it is an indication of a new era because fans are crossing their fingers for a fourth EP or full-length album this year. Until then, I’ll be streaming worth it on a loop.
