Lindsey Lomis releases latest single 'Good News/Bad News'

Nashville native, Lindsey Lomis, is the relatable soul-pop artist the world so desperately needs.

Releasing directly after “This Time (I Don’t Wanna)”, her latest single “Bad News / Good News” alludes to her upcoming EP “Universe”, and serves as the sneak-peek that will lock listeners into her sound.

Coming in at just over 3 minutes, the track is a guitar-led beat with the percussive sound of clapping layered into the backtracking. The single has contrast within itself, with the moments leading up the chorus are fast paced, whereas the chorus itself slows down and provides a clarifying moment for the listener.

Lyrically “Good News/ Bad News” showcases the inner dialogue of resenting a past lover’s past relationship. Lomis’ lyricism shows within the track on the chorus, “I hope she was bad for you, I hope that her name makes you sad,'' gives fans an insight into Lomis' mind. She gets her main point across without any room for interpretation.

The reliability of the lyrics will definitely hit home with listeners in a relationship and those who so desperately hope their partner is not reminiscing about a past lover. Although this is a common feeling, a partner’s ex can be a taboo subject, and Lomis is bold enough to speak her mind.

The single is a perfect capsule of dramatics wrapped up in the pretty bow that is Lomis’ composition and vocals on the song. An enjoyable listen, that etches that soul-like beat into the listeners mind, making it impossible to turn away from.

Lomis is currently on tour supporting Joshua Bassets, be sure to catch “Good News / Bad News” in the setlist, along with new tracks from Universe.
