'Farewell For Now', Greta Van Fleet's ode to fans

Greta Van Fleet gives back to their fans as an act of gratitude with the third single off their upcoming album Starcatcher. The band always shows appreciation towards their fans and now with the new single ‘Farewell For Now’, fans all across social media platforms are discussing how their hearts are warmed by the kindness being reciprocated with a song.

‘Farewell For Now’ suggestively piggybacks off a song called ‘My Way, Soon’ on the band’s previous album The Battle at Garden’s Gate. ‘My Way, Soon’ is about packing up and touring, going from show to show, seeing new faces in the crowds every night. ‘Farewell For Now’ follows up with the band saying they must say goodbye to the fans after a show and move onto the next stop but they will return soon. They wish to stay but must move onto the next show. “I wish we all could stay / but I bid you a farewell / And it means the world to play / But I bid you a farewell”, lead singer Josh Kiszka serenades sincerely, backed with the vocals of drummer Daniel Wagner, bassist Sam Kiszka and guitarist Jake Kiszka.

“Gathered here tonight / Did it up just right / And it’s all for you”, Greta Van Fleet puts 110% into every show and they do it all for the fans. The band is very grateful for all the love and support they get from their audience. People travel all across the world, going to multiple stops on the tours just to see the magical mind blowing performance the band puts on. Pyrotechnics, killer guitar and drum solos, phenomenal live vocals, intricate stage outfits with funky sunglasses and boas (courtesy of the fans in the pit), it’s a show you wouldn’t want to miss.

“In Farewell For Now we express the sentiment of our longing to stay on stage & savor the magic created by the audience-music phenomena. But we must pack up, & go to the next place to do it all over again; as always, we’ll be back soon.”, Bassist Sam Kiszka took to the bands Instagram to discuss the meaning of the song on the release day.

A heartfelt song with a guitar solo, elevated bass, and elegant vocals, you’ll want to add to your music library. Catch Greta Van Fleet this summer on their upcoming tour and be sure to listen to their highly anticipated new album Starcatcher, set to release on July 21.
