Dyl Dion has perfect timing wih his latest track "july"

Dyl Dion is fairly new to the music industry, coming up in the rise of bedroom pop, and releasing his first single in 2021, he takes youthful approach to his musicality. His previous tracks like "meant nothing to me" and "talk every night" are examples of how his audience draw close to his vulnerabilty and boosts him to the top.

His most recent single “july” is reminiscent mid-summer track, making the song rich in authenticity and character. The chorus line to this track includes the lines “I wish you were here for July, when I could talk to you all night,” putting itself in comparison to Lana Del Ray’s famous lyric from her top hit “Young and Beautiful”, “Hot summer nights mid-July, when you and I were forever wild,” and landing high up in the rankings of calendar-related lyrics.

The song's initial guitar melody almost serves as a "fake-me-out" to what it will eventually develop into: a combination of backbeat drumming and Dion's dreamlike and hazy vocals. The opening guitar melody is completed throughout the rest of the song but seems to take a backseat, while Dion's other musical aspects and composition drives the track.

This song  is the epitome of converting raw emotions into works of art while it's so reassuring and therapeutic to listen to. For fans of musicians like Will Paquin, Vacations, The Walters, and Weston Estate, Dyl Dion achieves a polished and well-balanced lo-fi sound. Listeners of today are seeking relatability in music on a variety of topics and Dyl Dion is a natural fit among these musicians.

Dion has also dipped his toe into the creative world of music videos, making a video for “pouring outside”, and I’m sure his audience can anticipate more of that with his next releases. For now, tuned for more from the upcoming artist.
