The re-release of “Stay” by galdive, now feat. RINI

R&B duo Galdive has been creating music since 2018 - several singles and one album, ‘Canvas’, in 2021. From Indonesia, the duo consists of singer-songwriter Tisha and composer/producer Osvaldo. Their sound glides from R&B to electronic, jazz, and pop. They are also visual artists as Tisha designs all the artwork for their music.

“Stay,” released February 7th, 2025, is a remixed version of their single from 2023. The song’s intro instrumentals with its light, quick piano and lush orchestral arrangements are immediately ensnaring. As the track progresses, it draws a scene of a couple in love, just being together while watching TV and feeling each other’s love in the room.

“Even the weather is asking for us to stay / I think the linen’s looking cozy / I’ll draw the blinds and you can choose what’s on TV / How simple love can be”  

The remix still has that same delicate, cozy feel, and RINI is an excellent addition to that feeling. Throughout his vast discography primarily centered on bedroom pop, indie, and R&B music, his bread and butter is cozy love songs. His vocal tone and lyricism seem to wrap the listener in a blanket. Tisha’s breathy voice complement’s RINI’s vocal fry nicely; his collaboration also inspired a new verse for the song. As they croon the chorus together, the instrumental switches to percussion accentuated with a snare.

Another stand-out in this record is the frequent changes in the instrumentals. We start with a rapid piano, shift to an orchestra, R&B produced beat, and percussion - all with layers and instrumental accoutrements. Osvaldo’s production is detail-oriented, allowing Tisha’s vocals to glimmer and the duo’s music to stand out from indie music as a whole.
