Maggie Lindemann and Julia Wolf Team Up on New Track “2022”

Alt-rock star Maggie Lindemann announced the release of her upcoming album I feel everything, due October 17th, and the project includes several features, one being Julia Wolf. Wolf has been on the up & up since her song “In My Room” blew up on TikTok and cemented her status in the world of alternative rock.

“2022” is a lamentory track that describes the coldness of losing yourself and someone you love. It uses the imagery of being buried in a grave and forgotten. There’s also the line, “They put my face on a flyer, I couldn't recognize it,” which gives me the impression that it’s alluding to a missing persons flyer— another sign of losing yourself.

Sonically, the track is almost in a state of mourning. It holds the softness of something broken and hurt, but the defensiveness of learning how to let go. Lindemann and Wolf are the perfect collaborators, their voices melting together in a beautiful duet. I would have loved to hear a track from them that’s more notorious to their respective heavier songs, but I found myself deeply enjoying the more stripped back track from them. It’s another perfect way fro Lindemann to set the tone of her album while the two continue to establish themselves in this scene.
