We sat down with Moon Walker to discuss their upcoming album Apocalypticism out October 20th.

B: I saw you have a new record coming out on the 20th. Can you tell us a little bit about what we can expect from that?

H: Yeah, definitely. What do you think here? I guess it's, it's eight songs. I would say it feels like all the albums I've done so far, the process is the same. Same kind of intention. Let whatever I'm feeling kind of come out and just... have it be whatever it is. So it feels like a continuation of the other ones. Um, but with that being said, I obviously get better. So it feels very much like the second album was, I think, it’s just better than the first one. Like constant progression.

B: If you had to pick one track from the new album that you feel people need to listen to, what would it be?

H: Dang, probably “Apocalypticism”, I guess, the title track. The first song, and the next, single in a couple days. My favorite one, though, is called “Apocalypse Now”. But, part of why it's my favorite, I think, is because it's so different. So I don't think it'd be like, if I was to pick one song that best kind of, that I'm most proud of that I've ever done, it would probably be that one, so kind of a toss up. But if I were playing the music for someone I would start with “About this season”.

B: What does this album mean to you, and what do you want people to take away from it?

H: That's a great question. I guess apart from just like, to me on a personal level, I wrote it just throughout the time of living in New York. So there's that, I've been there for a year.

I say I It's been done for a little bit. So it's probably the first eight months of me living there. Things that inspired me in a certain way or something like that. It's like the day that I had while making the song but I guess that what I would hope that other people do, take away is, the themes are very much about the apocalypse.

Not just the apocalypse, a lot of kind of concepts and themes. People think of them as being very far away or very kind of fictional, you know. I think that concept of the end of the world is like, I don't know. We're kind of killing, and destroying the earth. It's kind of now. It could happen. I think that a lot of times people think that they're on the cutting edge for being like, one day the world will end, we'll all die, there will be a zombie apocalypse. I think it's happening right now.

I think that we are going to run out of resources. I think that everything that people are afraid of, that they think is so far away, I think it's happening now, and that is both maybe depressing, but also kind of, like, not depressing. Kind of like, you don't have to live in fear of this one day where fire starts falling from the sky and whatever. But also maybe try to be a little better today. You know what I mean? Be a little conscious. There's not going to be a giant tsunami that kills everyone, probably. But there is a chance that all these problems that, we are well aware of, are happening now and will be the things that end up killing us sooner than we thought.

Apocalypticism. There's no apocalypticism that's already here. That's one of the lyrics.

B: What would you say most of your creative inspiration comes from?

H: You know with anything I think you never know what's going to inspire you. Whether it be something in the medium that you do, a movie, something can make you start thinking about certain things. Then suddenly that's gonna come out in, for me, a song. I get inspiration from a lot of things, I'm trying to, I probably get more, most inspiration maybe from like movies. The simulated traumas movies make you feel whatever the emotion the movies meant to make you feel, that's like kind of as if you’re going through it.

I guess not. In short, like, no, not really. But there is obviously, there's like something where like, when you're going to write a song that, that like guides it a little. I didn't have like an end goal

B: I saw that you just released some more fall tour dates. What can people expect from attending one of your shows?

H: I guess just, like, kind of a straight up rock show.

Be sure to be on the lookout for Moon Walkers upcoming album and if you’re looking for your next rock concert to attend, I’d. highly recommend catching one of his fall tour dates.
