Twenty One Pilots plans to “finish this” with new album “Breach”
Twenty One Pilots has announced their new album Breach, almost exactly one year after the release of their previous album Clancy.
The announcement follows an incredibly successful three leg tour in North America, South America, and Europe. The two piece band, announced the album on May 21st along with the release date for the first single, “The Contract”, coming out June 12th. The upcoming album seems to be a continuation of the previous album, with the announcement saying “hello Clancy, hello Blurryface, let’s finish this |-/”. This ongoing storyline has been occurring heavily since the release of their 2015 album, Blurryface, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary earlier this month.
None of this is a coincidence, with the alternative-rock duo being known for their storytelling and “lore” along with deliberate decisions for every announcement, release, music video, and social media posts. This seems to be the final battle between the two main characters, Clancy and Blurryface, both supposedly representations of lead singer, Tyler Joseph. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Breach and have already started developing theories and deciphering clues posted by the band’s official account and “unofficial” Blurryface account.
It seems there are very exciting things in store for Twenty One Pilots, and many are curious to see who wins this final battle between personalities.
