Mission Bayfest Festival Returns with Sunny SoCal Vibes

Mission Bayfest returns to San Diego’s coast for its fifth year on October 16-18. The anticipation of the festival’s waterfront views, sandy shores, and grassy lawns is leaving fans excited for its lineup of reggae, pop, and alternative talent that Southern California has to offer. 

The festival features headlining sets on the main stage from Rebelution, Kolohe Kai, and The Offspring, as well as supporting sets from artists like Goldfinger, The Movement, The Interrupters, Surfer Girl, and Jakobs Castle, the solo project of Sublime frontman Jacob Nowell. Keeping the energy up outside of the main stage happenings, the returning Under the Bridge Stage and the new Stage on the Sand will feature a diverse mix of non-stop entertainment. 

The Stage on the Sand is designed to showcase emerging artists and regional favorites. On Friday, the stage will highlight the next generation of American reggae artists, such as Joe Samba and Doah’s Daydream. Saturday will celebrate Pacific Island and Polynesian musical influences, featuring performances by Eureka Sound, Kekoa The Artist, and Kela Saco. And on Sunday, the stage will shift toward punk, rock, and ska influences that have intersected with reggae culture, with music by artists like Kyle Smith and The Ries Brothers. 

The Under the Bridge Stage, located beneath the West Mission Bay Drive Bridge, offers festival-goers a unique experience by blending live performances and DJ culture. Friday’s programming will highlight artists who draw from a wide range of global influences and bass culture. Saturday will be a DJ-driven experience focusing on celebrating multiple decades of R&B music. And Sunday will be a high-energy throwback featuring the emo and pop-punk hits of the 2000s. 

Tier 3 single and three-day ticket options are currently available at bayfestsd.com/tickets/. VIP tickets are also available for those seeking premium viewing access, VIP-only bars and bathrooms, a spacious furnished grassy area, and VIP $2 tacos. Costco is also selling discounted tickets to members online and at select in-store locations.
