Fake Fruit
Fronted by vocalist and guitar player Hannah D'Amato, Fake Fruit is a relentlessly energetic post-punk rock band from Oakland, California. The four-piece pairs their guitar-heavy sound with nervy and humorous lyrics that challenge the expectations of modern society. With only a few thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, Fake Fruit is a group on the rise and Outside Lands is the perfect place to catch their punchy set and claim the rights to saying you knew them first.
Samia
Singer songwriter Samia embodies the paradox of a delicate force. At 25 years old, her indie-rock dominated music is raw with honesty - singing lyrics that pull from the smaller anecdotes of life to make a commentary on the world we live in. Samia’s most recent project, Honey takes you on a cathartic, 11-track journey that will only be heightened with live performance this August.
Joy Oladokun
There are not enough words to describe the beautiful and raw complexity that is Joy Oladokun. The singer songwriter is a proud, queer Black person who documents all her experiences - the good and the bad - with her unique folk, r&b, and pop-influenced sound. The deep energy Oladokun brings to the stage has been showcased with late night talk show performances or as an opening act for Noah Kahan on his current 2023 summer tour.
Venus and The Fly Traps
Best friend duo Venus and The Fly Traps self identify as “indie-pop scene's annoying little sister”, giving a humorous glimpse at the playful and emotionally validating discography they offer today’s music scene. With songs like “Scaredy Pants” and “Boys Are Cuter When They’re Crying”, Venus and The Fly Traps pull inspiration from the early 2000’s sound as they vent about the struggles of growing up. With powerful instrumentals and gutsy vocals, this duo is an act you can’t miss.
No Vacation
San Francisco band No Vacation is loved by fans for their nostalgic indie-pop sound with tracks like “Yam Yam” and their most recent release, “How”. The group originated in 2015 and after a hiatus, they now show no signs of stopping. Hearing the signature subdue vocals of lead singer Sabrina Mai live along with classic strings and shoegaze guitars will be the dreamy summer experience we’ve all been looking forward to.
