9 Albums Turning 20 in 2025

In 2005, American Idol was at its peak, YouTube was created, and every girl owned a Juicy Couture tracksuit and a pair of Uggs. Now, in the year 2025, Juicy tracksuits and Uggs are back in style and these nine influential albums turn twenty years old. These albums paved the way for music to come and were just the beginning for several bands.

Gorillaz - Demon Days

Notable Tracks: “Dirty Harry,” “Feel Good Inc.,” “Dare”

Demon Days is the second album that Gorillaz released and is arguably their best. This album charted at number one in the UK and did just as good in the U.S. Demon Days has since gone 6x platinum in the UK and certified double platinum in the U.S.

Paramore - All We Know is Falling

Notable Tracks: “Pressure,” “Emergency,” “Conspiracy”

After being signed by Fueled by Ramen, rock band Paramore released their debut album, All We Know is Falling. The album is half based on the band's former bassist leaving the band and the cover art — a couch in the wilderness with a shadow of a man sitting on it — reflects that as well. The other half is allegedly about the divorce of lead singer Hayley Williams' parents.

Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree

Notable Tracks:” Dance, Dance,” “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More ‘Touch Me’”

From Under the Cork Tree is Fall Out Boy’s second studio album and served as their breakthrough into mainstream music. The album holds two of the band’s biggest hits and has since gone double platinum in the U.S. Bassist Pete Wentz said the album is about “the anxiety and depression that goes along with looking at your own life”.

Panic! at the Disco - A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out

Notable Tracks: “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” “Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off,” “Time to Dance”

Fresh out of high school, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out is Panic! At the Disco’s debut album and a staple in every emo kid's life. Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy actually discovered the band's demos online and ended up signing them to his own label in 2004.

The All-American Rejects - Move Along

Notable Tracks: “Dirty Little Secret,” “Move Along”

Move Along is the home of one of The All-American Rejects’ biggest hits. “Dirty Little Secret” has racked up almost 500 million listens on Spotify. The rock band’s second album has since gone 3x platinum and did great numbers on the charts.

Weezer - Make Believe 

Notable Tracks: “Beverly Hills,” “Perfect Situation”

Make Believe peaked on the charts as Weezer’s fifth album, containing one of the band’s hit songs. “Beverly Hills” gave Weezer their first Grammy nomination. To tease the new album, Weezer uploaded audio clips of new songs to their website. While they ultimately decided to scrap all the songs and posted them all on the website instead (none of them actually made it on the official album), these songs can still be found floating around on fan sites today.

Nickelback - All The Right Reasons

Notable Tracks: “Photograph,” “Animals,” “Rockstar,” “Far Away”

Originating in Canada, All The Right Reasons was Nickelback’s third straight number one album in their home country. Nickelback also became the first rock band to have three top ten hits from the same album in the 2000s. The record broke several other records and dominated the top of the charts in many countries. 

Foo Fighters - In Your Honor

Notable Tracks: “Best of You,” “DOA”

Double album In Your Honor contains half heavy rock songs and half acoustic songs. Foo Fighters also collaborated with a few other artists on the record including John Paul Jones, Josh Homme, and nine time Grammy winner Norah Jones. In Your Honor managed to get five Grammy nominations as well.

The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan

Notable Tracks: “Blue Orchid,” “The Denial Twist,” “Instinct Blues”

Siblings Jack and Meg White make up The White Stripes and for their fifth album, Jack produced the entire record himself in the duo’s living room. Get Behind Me Satan then went on to win Best Alternative Album at the Grammys in 2006.
