Small Words, The Old You, Have Mercy | 4/4/2018
The night began with local favorites Small Words. No strangers to the Hoosier Dome's stage, they were clearly right at home. Playing a mix of unreleased songs and fan-favorites, the upbeat energy the band brought to the stage was contagious.
If you missed out on their killer set, be sure to catch the band on tour with Drop the Girl later this month, or support them by checking out their music on Spotify, Apple Music, or Bandcamp.
Indianapolis locals The Old You soon followed. While the band was admittedly new to me, they were clearly not new to the others attending the show. Their pop punk tunes got the crowd moving and excited for the headlining act.
Baltimore's Have Mercy stepped on stage and almost immediately began gushing about how excited they were to be back at the Hoosier Dome. I know that I felt the same. The band also debuted a couple new songs, saying "Just don't tell anyone we played this." While I usually try to focus on photographing the entire performance when I have the chance, I couldn't help but stop and simply enjoy the show. While the band is not the type to jump and move around on stage, it is an extremely captivating performance nonetheless.
Have Mercy will be returning to the Hoosier Dome on their next tour in June, it definitely will not be a show that you want to miss.
