A night to remember with Noah Cyrus
Chicago - October 27, 2022
“There were so many ‘if’s’ with this album”
In Noah Cyrus debut studio album “The Hardest Part,” she says herself that it’s the most honest she’s ever been, and everyone in the audience at the sold-out House of Blues show in Chicago this past Thursday could feel that. With the album cover behind her on stage, her fairy-like black dress, and the beautiful stage lights, it was almost an ethereal experience to watch her perform.
Her fans appreciated her ability to be vulnerable and even talk about uncomfortable topics in her lyrics. Before she started singing “I Burned LA Down,” she let the audience know how nervous she was to put the song, as well as the whole album, out for the world to hear. She stated how personal and close to heart it is, that she was worried she’s gone too far, which is why there were so many ‘if’s’ with the entire album. Sharing her stories with the world only made her concert feel even more magical.
Her country-pop, indie-folk style can be compared to albums such as “Tango in the Night,” by Fleetwood Mac, that creates a similar feeling in the listener as “The Hardest Part” does. Overall, the album tackles various subjects around growing up and self growth, with lines such as “The hardest part of growing old is facing that you’re getting older and everything you’ve ever known is over” in her song “Hardest Part.” It details the growing pains, changing relationships and changes within oneself, that many of her concert-goers can relate to, being similar in age with Noah.
Besides her new album, she played one of her older songs “Again,” featuring XXXTentacion, that was supported by an incredible light show. The concert ended with “July,” before she came on stage again to perform her encore “Lonely.”
