Uncanney Valley: COIN's Energy is Effortlessly Unmatched

ORLANDO - October 7, 2022

Nashville indie pop group COIN concluded the US leg of their Uncanny Valley Tour in Orlando this weekend. COIN’s tours are consistently full of excitement and passionate fans, their most recent being no exception.

A line of fans waited patiently for venue doors to open all day. Once inside, they were greeted with a great set from Minneapolis based indie artist Miloe. The artist’s angelic vocals and dream pop melodies created an ideal pre-show vibe for COIN’s indie-pop fanbase.

COIN met fans with explosive energy the moment they stepped on stage, and kept it going through the duration of their set. Lead singer Chase Lawrence bounced all around the stage surrounded by strobe lights and on screen visuals inspired by modern technology following. The band put their all into the performance and fans followed suit by singing, screaming, jumping and dancing the whole time. The energy in Orlando was electric. It sounded almost as if every person in the venue was singing every word to every song. The crowd was roaring. The COIN fanbase brought its all to bid the band farewell until their next US tour.

I’ve seen COIN a few times and can confidently say that their Uncanny Valley shows have been their most impressive to date. The band perfectly fused music from every era of their discography into an hour and a half set in a way that felt seamless and cohesive. Fans seemed especially excited to hear songs from their most recent album, Uncanny Valley, which released in March of this year.

Perhaps the most magical moment of the show was when the band played their heartfelt ballad Let It All Out (10:05) at exactly 10:05pm. The moment definitely struck a chord with fans and even moved some audience members to tears.

The band expressed their gratitude towards their audience for their continued love and support. It seemed as though the conclusion of the tour felt incredibly surreal to band members Chase Lawrence, Joe Memmell, Ryan Winnen, and Matt Martin.

COIN shows feel like they’re about fan connection. It’s what makes them so special to experience. So the next time COIN is in your area, don’t miss out.
