Ella Jane @ Schubas Tavern

Chicago November 5, 2022

On her “Marginalia” Tour, Ella Jane made a stop at Schubas Tavern in Chicago. Jane opened with her song seven off her recent record Marginalia, which was released this past month. From the first line, fans were screaming along to every word, so much so that Jane seemed to be a little surprised how quickly fans were able to learn the lyrics to songs off an album that she had only released about a week before the show in Chicago was set to happen.

Jane’s pop dance tracks filled the room one after the other, matching the energy the adoring crowd was throwing back her way. In a few instances, Jane stopped to talk to fans calling out to her in between songs. Jane was given a few gifts from people in the crowd, a homemade bracelet and necklace being some of them. Jane also paused in between songs to agree to take a BeReal photo for a few fans and encouraged anyone else in the crowd to take theirs at the same time as she couldn’t get to everyone all at once.

“If you were dragged here tonight and haven’t known any of the words to my songs, you’ll definitely know this one,” Jane said, before leading into her energetic cover of “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry.

Jane closed with a three song encore, the first of which being Crash Cart a slower ballad off her new album followed by two more very energetic and upbeat tracks going out with a bang.
