The Grammy award-winning musical duo, Twenty One Pilots, took the stage at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas this Tuesday and it was ELECTRIFYING. Lead vocalist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun partnered together to deliver a show that was raw and powerful.
The show kicked off with a 2021 hit “Good Day” and fans screamed harder than any show I’ve ever photographed. I’ve always known Twenty One Pilots fans were “crazy” (or just dedicated)... but I had never met someone that slept outside in the Victory Park neighborhood for FIVE DAYS prior to a show, in 90 degree heat, just to be front and center. That’s commitment if I’ve ever seen it!
A snow-like substance blasted from the stage as Joseph and Dun stood next to each other in identical black ski masks, basking in the moment and feeling gratitude for their opportunity to be back in live music, especially following the pandemic. The usage of pyrotechnics, smoke, an elevated piano and a crowd-surfed floating mattress all added to the fun and unique execution of the twenty-six song setlist. I will absolutely be back to see them live again soon!
