Nightly sold out Nashville

Nashville, tn - November 16, 2023

Nightly set out on their “Wear Your Heart Out” tour earlier this October, following the release of their sophomore album “Wear Your Heart Out”. After stopping in cities all across America, Nightly concluded this tour on a high note, selling out Nashvilles Brooklyn Bowl.

Many fans came from out of state to attend this show and had also attend the first show of the tour as well which was held in Austin Texas. It is not uncommon for fans within this fanbase to travel to multiple shows to catch their performance and many fans were sure to let me know that I was going to witness something pretty special.

Abby Holiday accompanied Nightly for this sold out show, starting off the night with her uniquely captivating sound and lyricism. Her relatable lyrics with accompanied by her voice and instrumentals pulls you in while commanding your attention. KNOX shortly following her set, elevated the energy within the venue. Many of his fans could be seen singing and dancing on the barricade to every song that was played. After raising the energy in the room even further after playing “Not The 1975” KNOX announced that he was releasing a new single, “Girl On the Internet”. After asking the crowd if he could perform it, the venue erupted. Keeping with his trend of keeping the crowd on their toes, he surprised them again with a special guest. Charlotte Sands, who is set to go on tour early next spring, joined him on stage to sing their single “We’re Not in Love Anymore”.

Briefly after energizing the crowd, Nightly crew brought their iconic phone to the stage, signaling to the crowd that the show would begin shortly. The anticipation began to reach new levels as the bands message about the water crisis began to play. This was a feature that was unique to me, messages like this aren’t spread very often during concerts and it was very noble of them to spread that knowledge during a time when they knew they had the main focus of the crowd. Following the video, every light dimmed until there was a single light beaming onto the phone. After letting the phone ring a couple times, the band emerged and the Johnathan (the lead singer) answered. The music began to play quickly after Johnathan hung up and the crowd began to grow louder.

Kicking off their set with the first track from their sophomore album and the name of this tour “Wear Your Heart Out”. Everyone on the barricade and people throughout the crowd were jumping and singing to every word. Crowds such as this one really make the show so much better. everyone throughout the crowd is able to feed off of each others energy and it creates a space for everyone to feel the music. The performers are able to see this and it pushes them to perform that much more and give the crowd what they are giving to them and this was one of those shows.

When this album was first released earlier this year, the band stated that this album was meant to be played live and that is exactly what they did. During this extensive set list they played a large portion of songs from their newest album to include “Shirt”, “Radiohead”, “It’s Not Your Body”, and “Pink Starburst”. While also being sure to mix in their previous works such as “The Movies” and “Missed when you missed me”.

If you are looking for a fun interactive show to attend I highly recommend catching one of their shows next tour. The band makes every effort to make the evening memorable for everyone in attendance. Taking moments throughout the night to allow fans to interact with them by taking disposable cameras, coming to the barricade to sing with fans, and even recording videos with fans phones while singing. Moments like these create a much more intimate experience for the fans, creating core memories that they will take throughout their lives.
