Caamp takes over Chesterfield's The Factory on their Lavender Days Tour
CHESTERFIELD,mo May 18th 2023
The beloved Ohio-native band Caamp took the stage at The Factory in Chesterfield, as part of their Lavender Days Tour. This was the band’s first performance at the newly-built Missouri venue but certainly not their last.
The members made themselves at home at The Factory with sets of white banners, multicolored lights, and a backdrop of a blue sky decorating the stage. The intimate atmosphere made it easy for the crowd to feel the band’s energy and truly immerse themselves in the experience. With their opening song, “Huckleberry Love,” Caamp instantly transported their audience from a crowded concert venue to their favorite summer memory.
One of the most memorable aspects of the set was the band’s obvious love for performing and the camaraderie they had with each other. Instrumental breaks were spent jamming out with their friends and encouraging the audience to participate in the fun. No moment was spared and the band continuously cycled through their selection of songs, only breaking to connect with the crowd.
Lead vocalist and guitarist, Taylor Meier, introduced the band to the audience and thanked the opener, Louisville-based groove rock band Boa Boys, for their time on the tour. He cracked a few jokes with the crowd, asking if Chesterfield is considered part of St. Louis and mentioning that the band enjoyed fishing in a pond out back before the show.
An aspect of the performance that made the show so special was the shared midwestern experiences between the Ohio natives and the Missouri crowd. As a band whose core lies in sharing Midwest culture with the public, having an audience of individuals who could relate to growing up in the Midwest or shared the same appreciation for Midwestern culture fostered an even deeper connection.
Caamp rounded out their performance with “Going to the Country” before returning for a three-song encore.
Overall, Caamp’s performance at The Factory encapsulated the feelings and emotions felt in Lavender Days. The intimacy of the venue, dedicated performances, and connection with the crowd made the set truly unforgettable.
The Lavender Days Tour continues with additional shows added in Montana, Maine, Virginia, and Tennessee.
