The Backseat Lovers pack The Factory with contagious energy

St. Louis- July 22nd, 2023

Hailing from Provo, Utah, indie rock band The Backseat Lovers stopped in St. Louis this week on the second half of their tour. Named after their debut Columbia Records album, Waiting to Spill, the show was filled with bright orange lights as well as some stars that luminated the stage. The crowd was highly interactive throughout the whole entire night, singing the lyrics back to the band. Lead singer, Joshua Harmon, put on a highly energetic performance, thrashing and jumping around on stage throughout the night.

At times, the band paused to take in the reality that the crowd's voices were seemingly drowning out Harmon's vocals during a fan favorites such as , "Pool House," and “Kilby Girl”, as evidence of the group's rapidly expanding fan base that has grown from songs such as those blowing up on Tiktok.

Being our second time seeing the band live, it's obvious that The Backseat Lovers have grown more at ease performing live, to the point where they're not hesitant to try new things.  Jonas Swanson (guitar) would occasionally put down his guitar and alter his pedal board to create sounds. An excited crowd was kept on their toes by these inventive additions to the live performance.
