The Lemon Twigs Play Sold Out Show in Toronto
toronto, canada - october 5, 2024
Playing to a sold out show at Toronto’s Lee’s Palace, The Lemon Twigs easily proved classic rock is not dead late last Saturday night. Both sounding and looking like they jumped straight out of a 70s classic rock radio station, The Lemon Twigs lit the small but packed venue up with their unique sound to the crowd of eager fans.
Led by brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario, the band took over the room with the casual charisma and confidence of a group who has been touring for years. Both brothers start the show at the front of the stage with guitars, alternating singing the lead vocals for each song. As the show continues they take turns on the drum kit, displaying the full range of their musical talents. Supported on stage by touring members Danny Ayala and Reza Matin, the four piece fills the venue with the groovy rock The Lemon Twigs have become known for.
Notably citing The Beatles and The Beach Boys as influences and describing themselves as pop rock in previous interviews, The Lemon Twigs exist outside of the mainstream, creating their own unique spin on that old classic rock sound. The setlist is dominated by songs off of their latest release, A Dream Is All We Know, which sounds like it's straight out of a 1970s vinyl with Beach Boys like harmonies and off-kilter melodies. The Lemon Twigs unique spin on the classic rock sound gives their music a timeless quality, coming across as an honest appreciation and admiration for the sounds of the past more than any viable accusation of unoriginality.
From the moment the band steps on stage, the audience is fully pulled into the world of The Lemon Twigs; laughing, singing, and dancing along to the music. The Lemon Twigs offer a show like no other, connecting with the audience through the authenticity in their sound and their clear love for music.
Currently at the beginning of the North American stretch of their 2024 tour, The Lemon Twigs are a must see show for any music lover. Continuing until the end of November before heading back for more European dates, this is not a show to miss. Stream A Dream Is All We Know, out now on all streaming platforms.
