Knuckle Puck is Unapologetic and Unrelenting in their Toronto Take Over

november 26, 2024 - toronto, canada

Knuckle Puck hit the stage earlier this week at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto with undeniably contagious energy following two fiery openers, Meet Me At The Altar and Daisy Grenade. The final band before headliner State Champs, Knuckle Puck had no problem taking over the room full of eagerly awaiting fans. Dubbed a staple in the modern pop-punk scene, their high energy sound is balanced with introspective themes and rallying cries against the current state of the world.

Made up of vocalist Joe Taylor, guitarist/vocalist Nick Casasanto, guitarist Kevin Maida, drummer John Siorek, and bass guitarist Ryan Rumchaks, the band is seemingly effortless in their control of the room from the very first song. Playing a mix of old and newer releases, Knuckle Puck offers something to satisfy every fan.

Songs like “The Tower”, “A New Beginning”, and “Groundhog Day” off of their latest record, Losing What We Love, are met with a chorus of cheers from the audience as fans jump around and crowd surf to every track. Their latest single, “On All Cylinders”, released just over a month ago sparks the same excitement as the rest of the setlist, showcasing the dedication and passion of Knuckle Puck’s fans.

Driving the energy throughout the show, the band is unrelenting on stage, jumping around and firing up the crowd with every move. Fan favourite, “Untitled”, is taken over by the crowd as soon as the first chord rings through the hall as fans don’t miss a beat in screaming the lyrics from the opening verse back to the band; “Silhouettes on the ceiling / I’ve been much better but at least I’m healing / You know I haven’t slept since you left but for me that’s progress / For me that’s progress”.

Ending the set with “No Good”, Knuckle Puck leaves the audience buzzing with energy for the final band of the evening, State Champs. Knuckle Puck’s chemistry is clear on stage, as the band locks in from the first song to the end of the setlist. Unflinching and unapologetic in their music, you can feel the soul and power behind every song. Despite the underlying hope that defined their earlier releases, Knuckle Puck has embraced the full expression of their beliefs and are unafraid to say what's on their mind, especially in their more recent criticism of the world.

For an unapologetic, high energy evening, catch Knuckle Puck and State Champs as they finish up the second half of their current tour, on until December 8, 2024. Stream Knuckle Puck’s latest single, “On All Cylinders” out now on all streaming platforms.
