Sons of the East Sell Out Toronto

october 1, 2025 - toronto, canada

With the house lights dim, fans packed into Toronto’s The Opera House for the first North American stop of Sons of the East’s headlining world tour. Starting at home in Australia in August before heading to Europe and finally to North America, Sons of the East have amassed a dedicated following with their light, easy going feeling which was evident in the sold out crowd.

Comprised of Nic Johnston, Dan Wallage, and Jack Rollins, Sons of the East look completely at home on stage. Smiling out to the audience and laughing with each other in between songs, their energy is infectious, the show feeling more like being at home with your friends than watching someone on stage.

Fresh off the release of their latest record, Sons, at the beginning of the summer, the setlist is a mix of new and old tracks that satisfy every fan. The crowd sways back and forth to tracks like “Pour the Wine” and “Wish I Knew”, taking in every moment. The band puts their instruments down for “Undone”, choosing to sing only to the backing instrumental and trade vocals back and forth.

Despite the laid back, happily comfortable feeling of the atmosphere, the band has no problem driving the energy in the crowd as fans clap and stomp along to their more upbeat tracks. The whole audience chimes in to help sing a cover of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn”, laughing along as they join in on the chorus.

From the second they step on stage, you can’t help but be pulled into the world of Sons of the East. On tour in North America from now until the end of October, this is not a show you want to miss for any fan of indie music. In the meantime, stream Sons, out now on all streaming platforms.
