Toronto Gets Loud for The Home Team’s Crucible of Life Tour
Toronto, Canada - November 25, 2025
In spite of the rain, the queue stretched all the way down the block from the Danforth Music Hall for The Home Team’s Crucible of Life Tour in Toronto late Tuesday night. Almost entirely selling out the entire tour in under two days, the The Home Team have become a force to reckon with, and it’s clear they’re only going up from here.
Setting the stage early, openers Makari and Arrows In Action match The Home Team’s energy perfectly, dancing and cracking jokes through each of their sets, both taking time to express how grateful they were for the audience joining them early and their shared excitement for The Home Team and the night to come.
The anticipation and excitement in the building were palpable as the show carried on and crowd anxiously awaited The Home Team. In between sets, the crew placed a banner centre stage with a QR code, allowing fans to vote on the setlist, giving audience the (albeit very difficult) choice between “Move It or Lose It” or “Slow Boom”, causing murmured discussion to carry through the crowd as fans debated which of the two songs they’d rather hear.
As soon as the lights dimmed, the excitement in the crowd surged, the audience ignited as the opening chords of “Turn You Off” rang through the building. Having just as much as the audience, if not more, The Home Team look like they were made to be on stage. Comprised of lead singer Brian Butcher, bassist and back up vocalist Ryne Olson, guitarist John Baran, and drummer Daniel Matson, the band danced, jumped, and spun through the setlist.
Their latest album, The Crucible of Life, dominated the setlist and tracks like “Love & Co”, “Roommates” and “Overtime” were met with a united chorus of cheers before the audience joined in dancing and screaming the lyrics back at the band. Balanced by older tracks, the setlist offered something for both new and older fans alike with songs like “Right Through Me” and “Watching All Your Friends Get Rich” off of 2021’s Slow Boom. Taking it all the way back to their first album, the band took a moment of appreciation to shout out their “OG fans”, before playing “Fashion Forward”, happily met with excited shouting from throughout the crowd.
Having developed a reputation for, as Jesse from Arrows in Action so aptly put it, their “sexy little songs”, The Home Team has no trouble proving they defy genre, embracing their heavy roots with tracks like “Hell” and “Danger”, indulging the audience by asking them to join in full force on the screams.
Out on their biggest headlining tour to date, it’s clear that The Home Team is just getting started. It’s undeniable just how fun The Home Team is to watch, feeding off of the energy in the audience and multiplying it ten fold. Promising an unforgettable night, catch them now on The Crucible of Life Tour into early December in North America and stream The Crucible of Life, out now on all streaming platforms.
