Daya Ushers in a New Era in Toronto

Toronto, Ontario - April 24, 2026

Tucked away in a corner of Toronto’s West End, a chalkboard sign sat on the sidewalk outside of The Garrison, scrawled with little more than “DAYA - SOLD OUT”, serving as an understated landmark signalling the beginning of the night to come. Once inside, the packed room buzzed with excited energy, the crowd pressed right up against the stage, eager for the show to start.

Accompanied on stage only by drummer Valerie Franco, Daya walked out to the heavy beat mixed with an overwhelming roar of cheers. Described perfectly by opener Claire Brooks, Daya’s set is an “all night party”, the crowd jumping and dancing along from the very first song until the end of the encore.

Daya exists outside of the typical popstar archetype, having made her debut with “Hide Away” at 16 years old, followed by the Sit Still, Look Pretty record and collaborating with The Chainsmokers on the iconic hit “Don’t Let Me Down” in 2016. Such stratospheric hits define her entrance into the music industry as a teenager, but now Daya welcomes the audience in embracing her new era, balancing a mix of new and old tracks throughout the setlist.

Songs like “Matador” and “Wild Side” from her latest album, Til Every Petal Drops, released late last year, keep the energy high, the audience singing along as Daya dances across the stage. “Agonistic” shows off both her vocals and her song writing skills as the audience looks up at her in awe, inching impossibly close to the stage, trying to absorb as much of the show as possible.

Taking the time to introduce the audience to her latest single, “HUSH”, released earlier that day, Daya explains that the song was written years ago but never released until collaborator TroyBoi recently breathed new energy into the song, which was met with the delight of the audience as they jumped and grooved along. The night ended with “Feel Good”, a collaboration with Gryffin and ILLENIUM, the walls of the venue vibrating with the beat of the drums as the crowd danced, soaking in the last moments of the show.

Following unrelenting chants of “One more song! One more song!” Daya stepped back on stage for an encore, closing out the night with “Drift Away” off of Til Every Petal Drops, and finally “Don’t Let Me Down” by the Chainsmokers.

Daya’s discography melts between synth based house tracks and conscientious ballads, blending genres in a mesmerizing fashion, creating tracks that are perfect for both lighthearted dancing and cathartic screaming along to. Catch her now on the last 3 stops of the Til Every Petal Drops Tour, and stay tuned for what she does next.
