Lowertown Brings Their Alter Egos Out In Milwaukee
Milwaukee, Wisconsin - May 10, 2026
Lowertown, made up of Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg, are currently on their first headlining tour ahead of the release of their third full length album, Ugly Duckling Union, set to release on May 22, 2026. On Sunday night at their show in Milwaukee they performed as their alter egos for the first time. Introducing The Argo to a new side of Lowertown.
The audience waited as the stage glowed in deep red light, with rubber ducks lining the drum kit and an all-white stuffed duck later introduced as “Dale,” complete with liberty spikes and tiny boots. The strange stage setup immediately created an atmosphere that felt perfect for the new era of Ugly Duckling Union.
When Lowertown took the stage, Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg appeared completely transformed into their alter egos. Olivia wore a long black wig that obscured her usual blonde hair, while Avsha leaned fully into the character with dark sunglasses a blinged shirt and spiked bracelets.
Early in the set, Lowertown performed two singles off their upcoming album Ugly Duckling Union: “Worst Friend” and “I Like You A Lot”. These performances gave the audience an early look into the sound and vibe of the new record, with distorted instrumentals and emotionally charged vocals filling the venue. Both songs carried the chaotic yet vulnerable style that has become central to Lowertown’s music. Their stage presence was chaotic and genuine as they danced around the stage, jumped around, and constantly went back and forth with the audience. The duo was quite conversational with the audience throughout the night. Between songs they wished the crowd a happy Mother’s Day, even sharing stories about the gifts they had given their own moms. They kept the crowd engaged throughout the night, balancing playful interactions with emotionally intense performances.
The night concluded with a performance of “Best Person You Know”,encouraging the audience to sing along to the song’s striking dichotomy. While the crowd sang and danced along, the song itself carried themes about struggling with intense self-hatred and finding a direction in life. The contrast between the energetic atmosphere and the emotional heaviness of the lyrics perfectly captured the balance that defines Lowertown’s music.
With the release of Ugly Duckling Union arriving on May 22, 2026, the Milwaukee show offered an exciting preview of what is shaping up to be a bold new era. You can still catch Lowertown on the remainder of their first headlining tour here.
