Jake Minch Opens the Night with Ease

Philadelphia, PA - June 12, 2026

The perfect act to begin any night, Off The Record’s Volume 6 cover artist Jake Minch set the tone upon opening for Joshua Slone’s THINKING TOO MUCH TOUR for a sold out night in Philadelphia. Jake has had many stops in Philadelphia on a handful of tours, both as an opener and headliner, and it’s always a pleasure. This show was no exception.

Jake stood solo on stage, just him and his guitar, which is the core of almost all of his music. Beginning with “Nostalgia Act” off his debut album George, he serenaded the crowd with his simplistic yet beautiful melody. “Tell me all of the concerts you’ve seen” was screamed by fans as they added Jake to their own lists of artists' they’ve seen live.

Not letting the crowd forget about his first ever release, the second song was a throwback to “Handgun.” The song has a slightly faster tempo behind it allowing a sway among the crowd. He takes a moment to introduce himself and lead into another deeper cut “Changed Things.” The song tells the story of the hard parts of the relationship between siblings and the changes within growing up. It’s a beautiful yet devastating track, one to certainly silence a crowd.

Using that silenced crowd, Jake shifted to “Twice” which is underscored by a piano in its studio version, but altered to be accompanied by just a guitar in this live rendition. With just finger picking a melody, he seamlessly slides into an unreleased track “don’t look up” which fans can hope for on his inevitable second album which he has teased to be working on prior to the start of this tour. The song is a punch to the gut with his lyricism skills on full display. He sings “I was the kind of honest that you only are / Until you hurt someone.”

To finalize his set, he tops it off with fan favorites “For Leaving” and “Fingers and Clothes.” The crowd erupts as Jake hands out his signature hand drawn setlist with doodles to the fans up front. Jake is one of those artists that never leaves your mind after seeing, so if you’re in a town somewhere this tour is stopping, Jake is the type of act you don’t want to miss.
