Aidan Bissett Brings 'Supernova Tour' to St. Louis

st. louis - april 28, 2024

After a cloudy couple of days, St. Louis welcomed Aidan Bissett for the first time with sunny skies. Old Rock House buzzed with anticipation as the dance floor filled with excited fans.

The second Bissett stepped onstage, he commanded the crowd. When he said jump, they jumped. Scream, they screamed. Get low, they got low. The energy in each aspect of his performance was mesmerizing, topped with the passion behind his vocals and the band’s ability to effortlessly carry through every song, it was impossible not to get lost in the music.

As things started to slow down with “A Song for Her,” Bissett hopped into the crowd. The chorus of this song is a series of screams, and he wanted to find a new way to sing the song on this leg of the Supernova Tour. “To experience this moment together makes this song feel really special.”

The mix of new and old songs on the setlist made the night feel authentic, taking us through these intimate experiences that the audience can resonate with. “You learn a lot about yourself when you look inside for that long,” Bissett said about being in the process of writing an album. From that experience, he chose to write a song only for this leg of the tour entitled “Do You Want More.”

The atmosphere allowed everyone in the crowd to feel most like themselves, free to do whatever brings them passion. Before starting his newest release, “Planet,” he noticed a sign in the crowd asking to sing the song with him. “We had someone come up the other day for… like a dance sesh. You actually want to sing it? Do you know the words?”

The chemistry with his band is unmatched and their talent is even stronger. Guitarist Grant McManus and drummer Fionn Roche laid the foundation of the rhythm throughout the evening, providing a backbone for the dynamic of each song.

Bissett called everyone to move as “People Pleaser” approached the setlist, claiming it to be the “tour favorite” for every crowd thus far. And boy, did the St. Louis crowd move. The walls of Old Rock House shook with the music as people danced around without a care. By the time he reached the final song of the night, “Tripping Over Air,” there wasn’t a single person not singing along.

The Supernova Tour made for one memorable night in St. Louis, and there’s no doubt that this Missouri crowd is hoping for Aidan Bissett to come back soon.
