Ecca Vandal Crashes Full Speed Into Toronto
Toronto, Ontario - October 15, 2026
The line stretched down the street outside of Longboat Hall, the basement venue in Toronto’s Great Hall early in the evening last Thursday in anticipation for Ecca Vandal’s headlining show. Despite the gloomy weather, fans gathered in close, excitedly chatting with those around them as they waited to be let inside.
From the moment the doors opened, the room filled steadily, the crowd pushing in even further as soon as the lights lowered for opener Speed of Light. As Speed of Light ripped through their set, the excited buzz in the room multiplied tenfold as the crowd warmed up, ready for the rest of the night to come.
This show marked Ecca Vandal’s first Canadian headliner, which the crowd believed was quite overdue if the overwhelming chorus of cheers that filled the venue as she stepped out onto the stage were any indication. As soon as the band launched into “EYES SHUT”, the first track of the night, the room erupted; dancing and thrashing along as Vandal marched from one side of the stage to the other, the entire audience drawn into her corner of the world.
The setlist was dominated by songs off of her sophomore record, LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, released earlier this year. With the release of LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, Vandal has established herself as one of the leading innovative forces in the modern punk scene, which is only further solidified by the energy she brings to the stage.
From the first song, the crowd is completely enraptured in the show; moving, jumping and clapping alongside her, ready to indulge her every request. The crowd is more than happy to answer when Vandal shouts “Are there any girls in the audience tonight?” before bringing as many girls as would fit up onto the stage and launching into “BLEED BUT NEVER DIE”, the whole crowd singing along.
Tracks like “CAME HERE FOR THE LOOT” and “DO IT ANYWAY” drive the already insane energy through the roof, the walls of the venue rattling with the beat. Before the final track of the night, Ecca Vandal gives the crowd their first real moment to breathe, raising the house lights and sharing a story of creating LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW with co-producer Richie “Kid Not” Buxton in his childhood bedroom in Melbourne. Vandal thanks the audience for coming and expresses her gratitude for the privilege of experiencing live music with like-minded people.
The energy kicks back up for one final song, and “SORRY! CRASH!” closes out the night the same way it started, with the walls rattling as the crowd jumped and thrashed around, soaking in the final moments of the show. Ecca Vandal’s North American tour continues for one more week before she returns home to Australia for more tour dates.
