Rebecca Black Defines What It Means to be a Pop Star with the “Age of Exhibitionism” Tour
Nashville, Tennessee - September 29, 2026
The Basement East is one of the more unassuming buildings in Nashville but a line of red, black, and latex snakes onto the street, lighting a path to its doors and leading the way to the evening’s entertainment: Rebecca Black. The crowd is made up of out-of-towners and locals alike, sharing stories and music with each other as they wait for the show to begin, buzzing with anticipation, undeterred by the long drives home many of them will endure after the show.
A large box sits centerstage, a curtain of fringe acting as walls to a makeshift room. As the opening notes to “Miss Delicious” filter through the room, projections dance across the fringe, introducing Nashville to "Exhibitionism on Tour.” Black spends the entirety of the first song, behind the curtain, a silver serving tray in one hand, a microphone in the other. The silver platter feels like a cheeky nod to the popular phrase “she’s servingggg”, and rest assured, she is. It’s a concert, of course, but it’s also an exploration of what “exhibitionism” really means. Is all performance a form of exhibitionism? How does the performance of something change it? It is fantasy and kink as a mirror for the more mundane parts of life and the crowd is ready to dance, sing, and sweat their hearts out to it.
Black and her two dancers move hypnotically across the stage throughout the course of the night, occasionally bringing props on the stage to work into their choreography. A red jump rope becomes a whip before becoming a binding, tying the songs together as the three women move in conjunction. After the first three songs, she quickly ducks off stage. It is the first of many outfit changes. Every time Black reappears on stage sporting a new look, the crowd becomes a little more crazed.
This tour highlights Black’s most recent album, Age of the Exhibitionist, but she makes sure to pay homage to the classics. The room explodes when “Sugar Water Cyanide” blasts through the speakers. It’s distinctly more hyperpop than the other songs she has performed over the course of the evening, and if the Nintendo 3DS lifted in the air to record the moment is any indication, the crowd loves it.
Black ends the show in a red fur coat and white hat. It’s a combination of clothing that has been inspired by each outfit she has worn throughout the night, signaling her final form and the final act. “Michael”, the song she has chosen to bookend the night, has a reverb that feels angelic instead of haunting. She isn’t bringing the house down, she is raising it up.
The Exhibitionism Tour goes through the beginning of November and she hits the road in Europe next spring with Hillary Duff. Check out all of the dates on her website.
