Slowdive Defines the Sight and Sound of Shoegaze

Slowdive transforms the Ritz into an immersive shoegaze dream in Raleigh, North Carolina. Personally tokening Slowdive as a pioneer band in the shoegaze genre, a type of indie rock often categorized by interest in vocals and guitar distortion.
What makes a Slowdive show so captivating is their ability to completely separate their physical selves from the work, and let the sight and sound of their music speak for it. The entire focal point is set on the art projections presented behind them, with different visuals catering to different songs. One of the highlights include the greyscale strobing sparks during Catch the Breeze; the high intensity mixed with the emotional strain of the song pulled on my heart strings a little.
Wisp accompanies Slowdive on this leg of the tour, a younger shoegaze band popular on social media. Wisp also adopted the nature of slowdive in their stage visual interest, with alluring visuals with an embedded remote operated camera to complicate the visual effect.
