Wunderhorse Debut New Music in Washington D.C.

Washington, D.C. - July 23, 2026

Packed inside Washington, D.C.’s most iconic venue, the 9:30 Club, fans were eager for a late night of grunge and alt-rock music. The crowd took up the entire first floor and balcony. Thursday night marked the beginning of Wunderhorse’s North American tour, which left fans curious about their setlist for this show.

Been Stellar opened the night with a 30-minute performance that set the tone for the show. Their 90s garage sound was ever present on tracks like “Pumpkin.”

The band mentioned that tonight was their third time returning to Washington, D.C., and they were thrilled to be back in the city. D.C. is enriched by a lively music scene, filled with music venues throughout the city.

Wunderhorse took the stage in dark, moody lighting. Cheers erupted and echoed through the room as the band began with one of their most beloved tracks, “Midas.” With each track, the energy of the room seemed to amp up. Without any prompting needed from the band, the pit opened up and formed a large circle in the center. Fans looked at one another eagerly, anticipating the beat to drop. And the moment it did, fans on the outer edges of the circle collided in a clash of excitement at the center. Suddenly everyone was dancing and jumping, completely shaking the room.

Wunderhorse performed two new tracks this evening: “Promises” and “Kerosene.” Lead singer Jacob Slater smiled in delight at the crowd. Despite the fans not knowing the words yet, the crowd moshed, held hands, and danced in unison to “Kerosene,” which had an edgier tone.

The opening chords of “July” unlocked a new level of chaos in the room. For the full four minutes of the track, the audience began an endless wave of crowd surfing. The crowd raised their hands to support their fellow crowd surfers, providing safe passage to the front of the barricade. It was truly a sight of endless joy.

What can Wunderhorse fans expect with this new music? Is a new album in the works and on the way? Will the band continue teasing new tracks as their tour continues? Wunderhorse has left fans wondering what is next. Catch them on the remainder of their North American tour!
