Studio 54 Called, Mr. Fantasy Answered.

Los Angeles, California - July 15, 2026

Somewhere between the last echoes of a glittering guitar solo and a sea of outstretched hands reaching for a sweat-soaked shirt, I realized I wasn't leaving Fantasyland anytime soon.

For the release of his debut album Fantasyland and his first-ever live performance to kick off his “Sexy Little Tour,” Mr. Fantasy transformed Los Angeles' historic El Rey Theatre into a shimmering disco fever dream. If there was ever a venue worthy of christening this larger-than-life era, it was the El Rey, a room already dripping in old Hollywood glamour, now reborn beneath a haze of neon lights, sequined swagger, and unapologetic funk.

Forget the recent obsession with '80s synth-pop revival. Mr. Fantasy has officially filed the paperwork for disco's triumphant return. Every song felt like it had escaped from Studio 54 and crash-landed in 2026, blending irresistible grooves with a modern edge that begged the audience to surrender to the rhythm. From the very first bassline, hips started moving, and they rarely stopped for the rest of the night.

Performing Fantasyland in its entirety, Mr. Fantasy proved that the record wasn't just built for headphones; it was engineered for the stage. The live arrangements stretched beyond their studio counterparts, giving songs room to breathe through extended instrumental breakdowns and blistering guitar solos that showcased his musicianship just as much as his undeniable charisma. What truly separated this debut performance from a standard album release show was Mr. Fantasy himself. He doesn't simply perform—he commands. There's an almost hypnotic magnetism to the way he moves across a stage.

For an artist playing his very first headlining show, Mr. Fantasy carried himself with the confidence of someone who's been selling out theaters for years. Fantasyland may be the title of the album, but after one night inside his universe, reality suddenly feels far less interesting.

I'll be extending my stay.
