Indie-alternative band Driptones are back with new single “Deprestrian”.

Released in late September and following the performance at Playground Music and Arts Festival, group Driptones dropped their newest single “Deprestrian”

The Gainesville native group is composed of 4 members, vocalist Xander Boggs, bass player Zach Gerbi, lead guitarist Collin Fitzgerald, and drummer Tripp Jones.

With all 4 members being contributing songwriters the group channels the 60s surf-esque music perfectly in this track.

The track is just over five minutes, and carries sad undertones when diving into the lyrics. Yet the lyrics are contrasted with a high energy and nostalgic back tracking.

With lyrics “Think of all the things that I've done gone and helped you along your way, Think of all the ways that I ran at you when I saw your face,” the group confronts the feeling of leaving a relationship but still being haunted by its effects.

The single follows the release of their 2021 EP “Sleeptalker.” The six song release has a song for every alternative-indie fan, with the mellow guitar in “Collins Lullaby” to the ambitious melody of “Way Thru Time”.

Driptones is scheduled to release their next single “Ms. Meaty” in November.
