Tune into these January releases!

A lot of new music has come out in the past few days, let's take a look at a few exciting releases!

Even when I'm not with you I'm still with you - Pierce The Veil

In their third single off their upcoming album, Pierce the Veil lean into gritty simplicity. The song, just short of three minutes, mainly consists of a satisfying fuzzy guitar loop as well as other smaller accompaniments like the occasional drum beat and synth that add a significant amount of texture to the initial guitar riff. Lead singer of the band Vic Fuentes has gone on to say that the title and notable lyric within the song even when I'm not with you, I’m still with you came from a text message he received from his manager while he was going through a tough time, to which inspired him to write and dedicate this new song to his wife and their love for each other.

The Jaws Of Life the new album by Pierce the Veil out February 10th, 2023.

C’est Comme Ca - Paramore

Similarly to Pierce the Veil, Paramore has released their third single off their upcoming album This is Why. C’est Comme Ca, meaning “It’s like that” in French, was easily the most unpredictable of the three singles prior to its release. The song entertains a subtle dance-punk sound with spoken word verses. Lead singer Hayley Williams, in an article with Rolling Stone, broke down her thought process behind the lyrical content of the song. Williams notes, “I’m trying to get un-addicted to a survival narrative,”...“The idea of imminent doom is less catastrophic to me than not knowing anything about the future or my part in it. The guys and I are all in much more stable places in our lives than ever before. And somehow that is harder for me to adjust to”. While it is understandable that this particular song is not everyone's first choice in terms of tonality, its honesty alone should warrant a listen regardless.

This Is Why the new album by Paramore is out on February 10th, 2023.

Flowers - Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus’ first single of her new album/era is out! This imminent return has been highly anticipated since the release of her 2020 album Plastic Hearts. Based on first impressions of Flowers it is unclear where the full direction of the album is heading but the single itself sonically pulls from both Cyrus’ gritty voice in Plastic Hearts and the groovy dance tone of her 2017 album Younger Now. Apart from Cryus’ clear-cut vocals and message of self-empowerment, there are a few musical pieces that really stand out that definitely add to the song's instant charm. The main bass riff that echoes throughout the song holds all of the power in its composition, it is groovy in every right way and holds a listener's attention. Everything else within the production then works to fill out and accentuate Cyrus’ voice, which works really well here. The song is simple in its design but holds a strong message and beat that fully wins over a listener and leaves them coming back again and again.

Endless Summer Vacation, the new album by Miley Cyrus out March 10th, 2023.

End Of It All - DWLLRS

DWLLRS has returned with a new melodic track titled End of it All holds a very strong message of understanding the importance of self-love and acceptance. “Before you love somebody you better love yourself”, Lead singer Bren Eisman sings. The song tracks the lesson of a relationship that ended poorly and what Eisman learned from the experiences he encountered because of it and the efforts that he felt he lacked or what he wished he realized sooner. Musically this song is a slower piano ballad with a few elements of pop melodies. With this song DWLLRS help to remind listeners that there is life beyond the lowest moments and that we always have room to grow and treat ourselves and others with love.

Cadillac - Sun Room

Sun Room continues to burst into new releases with an energetic single titled Cadillac. The single feels heavily inspired by mod/garage rock, there are also lingering pieces reminiscent of past bands like the Beatles and the Kinks! Since the release of Cadillac frontman, Luke Asgian has gone on to say in an interview with Atwood magazine, “We’ve always had a bad habit of speeding up songs and playing them a bit too loud,”...“So this time we kinda just decided to give up on fixing this bad habit and just go for it – play it unhinged”. This new track is sure to make anyone stop and listen. It is safe to say that Sun Room has a bright future ahead of them in music!

Check out Sun Room’s upcoming EP Outta Their Minds, coming out later this year!
