Moon River Music Festival

Chatanooga, Tennessee - September 9 - 10

Many gathered at this years Moon River Music festival, nestled along the Tennessee River. Traveling from different parts of the country, festival goers were able to enjoy some of the best of what Chattanooga had to offer. With a wide variety of vendors, they had something for everyone to enjoy while watching their favorite artist.

The artists selected for this festival build on the laid back, alive atmosphere that the natural surroundings create. With the way the schedule is created and the close proximity of the stages, fans are able to catch every act if they pleased. Though many of the dedicated fans stayed on the rail all day, waiting for their favorite artist to take that stage. Many goers could be seen singing and dancing during the performances and even embracing one another during those tender moments. While many other festival goers chose to sit and lay on blankets while listening to the performances, luckily the weather was perfect for this.

During the first day of the festival there was a thunderstorm that came through. Although people had to leave for safety reasons, the festival staff was helpful and affective at keeping everyone safe and being sure everyone evacuated quickly. many gathered outside the festival under the bridge in order to cover themselves for the storm passing through. People began talking to the people around them and getting to know one each other. It wasn’t much long after that the festival resumed and there was a new sense of community when returning back to the festival.

I’d also like to take a moment to mention the merchandise the festival created and sold. Along with the artists merchandise, they had a line of merchandise themselves. Both the style and the carefully articulated colors of each item reflected the atmosphere and feeling of the festival.

When attending this festival you can be sure to expect an amazing artist line up, a large variety of vendors catering to everyones dietary needs, beautiful scenery, helpful staff, and friendly faces.
