"JRJRJR" and “Revengeseekerz”: 2025 is the year of Jane Remover

American musician Jane Remover has revolutionized the music scene through their experimental and influential boundary breaking of genres, taking inspiration from everything from hyperpop to shoegaze to alternative R&B. Remover already had a phenomenal 2024 with a run of critically acclaimed singles, including “Flash in the Pan” and “Magic I Want U,” and the announcement of the TURN UP OR DIE tour back in December.

They also teased an upcoming album set to release in 2025, initially only through murmurs on social media. Later, many believed their wiped feed on several platforms in favor of one post with a distinct font of cropped letters that spell out “Rev” on Instagram to be an official confirmation of the next Remover project being on its way. While fans were curious as to whether this new record would follow a similar sound trajectory to the four singles from 2024, Jane Remover confirmed on a now deleted Instagram story that these tracks were not part of a larger body of work, leading fans to wonder what sonic direction they might take in the upcoming year. While also confirming the release of a new album called Ghostholding for the venturing side project in February, many also wondered whether listeners might have to wait a little bit longer for the next project under the Jane Remover name.

However, it certainly did not take long into 2025 for Jane Remover to start preparing for an upcoming release year, as they dropped their latest single “JRJRJR” on New Year’s Day. As an entirely self-written, self-produced, and self-arranged track, “JRJRJR” is a powerful embodiment of Remover’s artistry and musical brilliance. Investigating the pressures and expectations of an artist and a person to fit into a particular mold, the track blends an explosive sound of rage rap and digicore with stunning and cutting production. Alongside the release of the track, Remover released the “JRJRJR” music video to visualize the song through a glitchy and chaotic outlet, bringing the complex relationship Remover confesses about their music and identity to life.

On X later in the day, Jane Remover posted “:)        Revengeseekerz .” teasing the title of their upcoming record. Their label, deadAir Records, confirmed around the same time that “JRJRJR” was indeed the first single from a new album called Revengeseekerz. While there’s no official release date announced for the project, Revengeseekerz will seemingly release sometime in 2025. The TURN UP OR DIE tour also begins in the United States in April, and fans are anxiously awaiting to see what other surprises Jane Remover might have up their sleeves before taking the stage. Regardless, it’s clear with the release of “JRJRJR” that Jane Remover is ready to take 2025 by storm.
