Miley Cyrus Announces Visual Album “Something Beautiful”
Miley Cyrus has been up to something since the release of her last album, Endless Summer Vacation, in 2023. She’s been up to Something Beautiful. Marking her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful is set to release May 30 via Columbia Records.
While the singer has experimented across genres throughout her existing work—with albums such as Bangerz being full of classic party pop songs, or others such as Plastic Hearts leaning into a more rock sound—Something Beautiful is anticipated to be one of Cyrus’s most unique projects. Following the release of the album, there will be an accompanying visual film. The album’s trailer, released on Tuesday March 25, calls it a “unique visual experience fueled by fantasy” and “a one of a kind pop opera.”
Something Beautiful will consist of 13 tracks and is executive produced by herself and Shawn Everett. Everett has won six Grammy awards and is known for his work with other artists such as Kacey Musgraves and The Killers. He called Cyrus’s album “more experimental” than any of her previous work, and Cyrus has cited the film Pink Floyd: The Wall as key inspiration for the project.
