Måneskin’s Damiano David Announces Solo Project and Single “Silverlines”
If you’re a Måneskin fan who can’t get enough of the Italian rockers, get excited because you have new music to look forward to—just not from the entire band. Frontman Damiano David has announced a new solo project, kicking off with the release of his debut single “Silverlines.” David shared a couple cryptic teasers for the project, and in true Italian fashion, he’s not shying away from drama, theatrics, or his characteristic suave style.
Måneskin skyrocketed to international fame after they won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest and has since established themselves as hard-hitters within the rock scene with their in-your-face sound and energetic performances that live up to the modern proverb “sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll.” After releasing their 2023 album Rush! (Are U Coming?), the band announced a hiatus, but that doesn’t mean they’re staying quiet.
David isn’t the first Måneskin band member to find his own footing within the music industry. Bassist Victoria De Angelis performed on the VMAs stage with Halsey, released the single “GET UP BITCH! shake ya ass” with Brazilian pop musician Anitta, and embarked on a DJ tour this year. Guitarist Thomas Raggi played “People Have the Power” with Patti Smith at the Ostia Antica Festival in Rome. For now, drummer Ethan Torchio hasn’t announced any musical solo endeavors, but fans are hoping he’ll also share his individual talents.
“Silverlines” will be out on September 27. Pre-save the song here.
