Shawn Mendes just announced his long awaited return to music with new album “Shawn”
After a four-year hiatus, singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes just recently announced his fifth studio album, “Shawn” out everywhere on October 18. In anticipation of his comeback album, he’s releasing two singles ‘Why Why Why’ and ‘Isn’t That Enough?’ on his birthday, next Friday, August 8th. To accompany the announcement, Shawn Mendes released an album trailer and described the process of this album in an Instagram post.
“Music can be medicine,” the artist wrote, “2 years ago I felt like I had no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift. Honestly thank god for my friends and family. Life can be brutal but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I have no idea how I would have made it through the last couple of years let alone make an album without you.”
He described the process of the making of this album as a healing process, explaining his love for music and the passion he has for it. As well as thanking fans for their patience and hoping that they appreciate this new era.
