Hozier follows up "Unreal Unearth" with "Unaired" EP

Unreal Unearth is the gift that keeps on giving. Hozier announced Unaired, his second EP of extended material from the album, that will be released two days shy of the album’s first anniversary.

In a video posted to his socials, Hozier describes the Unreal Unearth album writing sessions as an “intensely creative period” that conceived “far more material than [he] could put onto one album,” and fans are unbelievably excited. Unaired follows its sibling the Unheard EP, which contained the standout song ‘Too Sweet’.

The Unaired EP will have three songs—’Nobody’s Soldier’, ‘July’, and ‘That You Are’, a song co-written with and featuring Bedouine.

Hozier debuted ‘Nobody’s Soldier’ at Lollapalooza and shared a snippet of the song, with what looks like an accompanying music video, on TikTok. Described as an “anti-war” song during his interview with Parade, ‘Nobody’s Solider’ is an energetic and forceful track that features Hozier’s distinctive and poignant lyricism.

And it wouldn’t be Hozier if there weren’t a touch of melancholy and longing, which characterizes the song ‘July’ that he teased on the last day of the song’s namesake.

As for ‘That You Are’, Hozier has kept details of the track underwraps, but his voice combined with the soulful tone of folk artist Bedouine promises to be an ethereal pairing that will likely be perfect for the hazy mornings and crisp evenings of autumn.

Unaired is out August 16th. Presave the EP here.
