5 Can’t-Miss Acts at Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza is right around the corner, and Off the Record wants to make sure you catch all the best sets. From 2010’s pop-turned-alternative goddesses to rising rockstars, here are 5 acts you can’t miss at the Chicago festival.

1. Post Sex Nachos

With groovy tunes and roller-coaster-rink-like synths, Post Sex Nachos is a band you have to catch. They released their far-out project “Priva/Vera” earlier this year. The funky 5-piece is set to bring the boogie to the Bacardí stage at 12:50 pm on Sunday, August 4.

2. Knox

He might not be The 1975, but Knox is definitely a rising star in the alternative music scene. With bops like “Sneakers” and “Not The 1975,” Knox is hitting the road with The Band Camino across the country this summer. You can catch him at 1 pm on Sunday, August 4 on the Bud Light stage.

3. Blu Detiger

You may have seen Blu Detiger adding kick-ass basslines to songs that “don’t need it” on TikTok, with pop princess Sabrina Carpenter on the “emails i can’t send” tour, or on the Forbes 2023 30 Under 30 list. Either way, you can't miss Blu Detiger’s set on Friday, August 2 at 2:50 pm on the Bacardí stage.

4. Briston Maroney

Seeing Briston Maroney live will have you freakin’ out (on the interstate). The indie-folk rockstar pours emotion into his every performance, ranging from shredding and headbanging on tracks like “Small Talk” to soft swaying to “June.” You can hear Maroney’s powerful act at 4 pm at the IHG Hotels & Resorts stage on Saturday, August 3

5. Kesha

The party don’t start ‘til Kesha walks in. After releasing one of the most experimental and honest records last year, festivals are not ready for the acid trip that is a Kesha set. With a mix of number-one singles and personal deep cuts, Kesha will certainly put on an unforgettable set. She will be playing on the T-Mobile stage at 5 pm on Thursday, August 1.
