Dead 2 the World Tour | 6/14/2019

The Dead 2 The World Tour hit up the Egyptian Room at Indianapolis’ Old National Centre on Friday, June 14th.

Yung Pinch opened the show with a high energy that amped up the crowd for the rest of the night. However, the energy was chaotic at times and he could have channeled it into a better quality performance. He was constantly bouncing across the stage, which made him sound a little too breathy on the mic. With some time and more experience, he could turn into a quality performer with a less cliched presence.

Elohim followed up with a vibrant (both literal and figurative) and enticing performance. Any audience member could tell she thoroughly felt her music pulsating through her veins. Though this kind of music can get too commercially poppy, Elohim really drew fans in with her whispered tones that could suddenly rise with eloquent vocal control.

Blackbear closed out the night. His set began with him on top of a gorgeous three square LCD screen light box (a strobe warning may have been nice). He sounded great and had an amazing presence that drew fans in. Blackbear smiled throughout his high-energy performance, which helped fans feel his music as he did.

Overall, the Dead 2 The World Tour was an enjoyable evening, even with a slight lack of experience from the opener. He still seemed to get the crowd pumped and ready for the rest of the evening, which can be hard for anyone to do. If you get a chance to stop by the tour, take it.
