flor, Winnetka Bowling League, & Brightly Wild | 2/29/2020
Last Saturday night, flor’s winter tour, supported by Winnetka Bowling League and locals Brightly Wild, hit Indianapolis’s Hoosier Dome. The venue was sold out and completely filled with excited fans. You could practically feel the room buzzing as soon as you walked in.
Locals Brightly Wild, led by Andrea McPherson, perfectly warmed up the crowd and prepared them for the night of incredible music. Only the day after the release of the group’s very first single, dreamstate, many of the audience members were already singing along. Fog and bubbles made the experience all the more magical. If you haven’t yet heard the band’s, fittingly, dreamy single, it is available to stream on all major streaming services.
Traveling all the way from Los Angeles to Indianapolis, Winnetka Bowling League were the second act on the lineup. The chilly weather didn’t prevent the band from stealing the hearts of the Indiana crowd. While many of the members of the audience may not have known of the band before the concert, they will certainly remember their name now. Their witty banter between songs spanned from the topics of fish tacos to global warming to sleeping with your teacher, and their southern California sunshine inspired tunes quickly warmed up the shivering crowd. While I had not heard of the band before the concert, their music has been on repeat ever since.
Also hailing from Los Angeles, CA, flor got the crowd moving as soon as they stepped on the Hoosier Dome’s stage. But compared to the previous band, the entire sold-out crowd knew who flor was. The tiny venue was surging with energy for the entire length of the band’s set. Every member of the crowd was dancing and singing along to old and new songs alike, even those at the very back of the room. This band is always a treat to see live, and this show was no different.
