Lead singer Dylan Minnette, drummer Cole Preston and guitar player Braeden Lemasters step out in casual-yet-stylish clothes, Minnette and Lemasters wearing sweatshirts, and Preston in a button- up long sleeve.
Bright color-changing lamps that change with the beat of the song lined the stage, as well as a rectangular background.
Wallows begins the show with “Hard To Believe” a single off of their latest album of which they named the tour after, “Tell Me That It’s Over”.
Although the members all have their presumed instruments, through the performance the three of them often switched instruments. Minnette switched from vocals to guitar with moments of tambourine in the song “Marvelous” as well as harmonica in “Pleaser”. Preston took center-stage for “Quarterback”, which resulted in gasps from the crowd and Lemasters performed “1980’s Horror Film”.
“I want to say two words to Milwaukee right now: Giannis. Antetokounmpo.” Lemasters yells to the crowd in tribute to the Milwaukee Bucks basketball star.
Minnette shared it was the bands first time in Milwaukee, as well as Wisconsin.
“This is a pretty beautiful city. We were blown away by how beautiful it is,” Minnette said.
The band rocked out to their indie-inspired songs and encouraged the crowd to sing back to them. Beach balls floated in the air during the performance of “Remember When".
The set list included an array of songs from their newest album, as well as songs from their first album Nothing Happens and their release from 2019, Spring EP.
When the show was finished the group teased the audience and left the stage only to return for an encore after the crowd chanted “One more song!”
The 3 song encore included “Do Not Wait,” the ballad that concludes their first album, “I’m Full,” which was chosen as an audience choice song, and “Are You Bored Yet?” which is their most popular song to date with over 500 million Spotify streams as well as becoming a 2 time platinum song as of January.
Preston passed his drum sticks to the audience and the rest of the group tossed their guitar picks to the crowd before waving and walking off stage.
