Laundry Day @ HOB Chicago

chicago, illinois - october 2, 2023

This past week, Off the Record had the opportunity to catch up with our friends Laundry Day at Chicago’s iconic House of Blues! Opening up for Neon Trees, Laundry Day made sure to pump up the crowd with their energetic performance showing just how much love they have for the stage and their fans. It was clear that many audience members came to show all of their love and support for Laundry Day with this being their first time back in Chicago since the release of their third album, Younger Than I Was Before

With the band’s focus on their newest release surrounding their high school days, there was no lack of theming for their set. Wearing their already iconic Laundry Day uniforms along with the repeated sounds of the school bells ringing, the boys were able to immerse the crowd into the world of Laundry Day Academy. In addition to their school theme, the band made sure to include several nods to their beloved hometown of New York City with the words “You know you need unique New York” written on a pizza box and held up for the audience to sing along to their new song “Y.K.Y.N.U.N.Y.”

Laundry Day came to prove their enthusiasm and passion for performance, ensuring that every audience member was singing and dancing along with them throughout the entirety of their set. Their energetic stage presence perfectly set the tone for the rest of the night and made for an amazing introduction of Younger Than I Was Before to the city of Chicago.
