A night with Flyte, a quick chat before they take the stage at Lincoln Hall

Chicago, Illinois- November 13th, 2023

At 11 years old the members of Flyte, Nick Hill and Will Taylor had their own musical endeavors, only crossing paths every once in a while growing up going to shows around London. Then in their 20s, Taylor called Hill to show him the song, “Faithless,” and then they started performing around the London area, solidifying their spot in the local music scene.

Now, a decade later, they are touring all around North America, United Kingdom and Europe with three full-length albums under their belt.

“We've been writing together long enough now that it's sort of that we've made our mistakes,” Hill said. “Now we're on the same level every time we pick up a guitar together, we can get the song much quicker now.”

Taylor explained that the music is autobiographical to the band and it’s evolved as they have gone through the emotional ups and downs they have faced in relationships to just navigating life.

“We've got to fully just commit to the idea of the story of our own lives and this last record is just a follow-on from the last one,” Taylor said. “It's no longer a breakup story, it's a love story, it's a relationship story. It's about examining how relationships work, you know, after having tried a few times.”

Their most recent album, “Flyte,” was released on Oct. 27, 2023, and has already received a lot of praise from their listeners. According to Taylor, the band was performing at Webster Hall in New York City, N.Y. and shortly after that performance, fans quickly learned the songs and sang along in the crowd at Lincoln Hall in Chicago, Ill. on Nov. 13, 2023.

This show was the first time on this tour that they had a full band with them and had little time to rehearse, however, no one would know because their performance was so cohesive that it sounded like they’d all performed together for a long time.

Throughout the show, Taylor and Hill would tell stories on tour like when a girl in the audience during their performance in Virginia shouted for them to play Orphans of The Storm,” and she ended up getting on stage to sing it. Cool moments like that were exciting to hear in between songs, however, fans really got excited as the band played “Sometimes” for the first time live and “Bedtime Reminder” as one of the encore songs.

During the show they announced that new music will be released next year, including a new version of a song with a Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, Madison Cunningham.

“We got two very exciting projects that are completely top secret that we're working on right now,” Taylor said. “We're going to be doing more touring next year, I'm going to be writing a bunch of material for a couple of different projects out in America, beginning of the year and then touring across Europe in February.

Their tour continues on the west coast of the U.S. and then finishes the year off in the U.K., fans can keep updated on tour dates and new releases on their website.
