Twen Takes on St. Louis this Fall

st. louis, mo - november 15, 2024

Music lovers of St. Louis gathered at the Blueberry Hill Duck Room to spend an evening with Twen and Eric Slick on their fall tour. The Duck Room was the perfect choice—an intimate venue that draws some of the most engaged crowds. With these artists on the bill, it wasn’t surprising that fans filled the room.

Co-headliner and indie pop artist Eric Slick took the stage with fun and infectious energy. His songs provided a certain groove that had people moving—and from that point on, there were some fans in the crowd who never stopped. Whether it was a new song or a tune written with his hometown friends, Slick had the crowd’s full attention. He bantered about his favorite things in St. Louis—the food, the people, the city itself—and created a bond with the audience. “This is the best crowd yet, I can already feel it,” Slick stated after a successful call and response.

The energy remained high as Twen entered the room for their set—rock fans have been building with anticipation to hear a performance as electrifying as this. It was hard to stay still as we watched the band move around the stage, feeling the music. Powerful vocals from lead Jane Fitzsimmons paired with the crashing of cymbals and punchy guitar lines provided an unforgettable live performance. Made up of the aforementioned Fitzsimmons as lead vocals, guitarists Ian Rollins Jones and Asher Horton, bassist Camden Pink, and Fiona Palensky on drums, the balance amongst the band was simply admirable. On this last leg of shows of 2024, and after many years of touring, they have become experts in live performance.

From fan favorites such as “One Stop Shop,” to newer releases from EP Infinite Sky, to a festive “Christmastime,” the sound, the movement, and the pure charisma of the night were all captivating. The music came to life, translated beautifully from the studio to a live setting, and Twen summoned the perfect crowd to celebrate the music with them. People danced, cheered, clapped, and followed every beat. Some danced to themselves, others found a friend and tossed around the inflatable dice kicked into the crowd at the start of the show.

The St. Louis stop on Twen and Eric Slick’s fall tour showcased pure talent, exceptional sound, and exciting energy in an up-close-and-personal setting. They have made their mark on the indie rock and pop scenes over the years, and their growing success proves they won’t be going anywhere any time soon.
