Return to Dust Rocks Toronto

december 1, 2024 - toronto, canada

Late Sunday night at Toronto’s iconic Velvet Underground, Return to Dust easily fired up the club on the only Canadian stop of their headlining tour. Up Toronto’s Queen Street, Return to Dust turned the Velvet Underground into the place to be in the heart of the city on an otherwise quiet Sunday evening. Hailing with a new sound in the post-grunge sphere, clear hard rock and heavy influences define Return to Dust’s music, unique in the scene right now for being unapologetically true rock and roll.

In an era of subgenres and spin-offs, Return to Dust is authentic rock all the way through, and they have no problem drawing a crowd who eat up every minute of it. Made up of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matty Bielawski, vocalist and bass guitarist Graham Stanush, lead guitarist Sebastian Gonzalez, and drummer London Hudson, the band effortlessly drives the energy in the room as soon as they hit the stage.

Despite only having one full album, a self titled released last year, they take full advantage of their headlining tour, stating that they’re going to play the album in its entirety, to the clear delight of the audience. Buzzing even before the band hit the stage, the audience yells and head bangs along to every track, visibly enamoured with Return to Dust as the crowd inches closer and closer as they are absorbed in the music.

If you are a fan of rock, in its truest forms, you have to check out Return to Dust. Although they are coming to the end of their current tour, this is not a show to miss. Promising a night full of hard hitting tracks, the band is unrelenting through the setlist and are undeniably fun to watch on stage.
