The Gaslight Anthem lights up Toronto

toronto, canada - august 25, 2024

The Gaslight Anthem lit up Toronto’s History on an otherwise quiet Sunday night out by Toronto’s beaches with a night of pure rocking late into the evening. Walking out to Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want to Have Fun, it’s clear that The Gaslight Anthem knows exactly what energy they want to bring to the stage, and have fun they did. At the end of their History Books tour, the band looks completely comfortable on stage and draws the audience in from the very beginning.

After announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2015 and reuniting full time in 2022, it’s clear that on stage together is exactly where The Gaslight Anthem should be. Made up of Brian Fallon on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Alex Rosamilia on lead guitar and backing vocals, Alex Levine on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Benny Horowitz on drums and percussion, the band blends perfectly to create their unique sound. Drawing elements from punk, soul, folk, and classic rock, the band draws a wide range of fans, all completely enraptured throughout the setlist.

Fans jump, clap, and crowd surf throughout the set, as the band plays a mix of new and old hits that satisfy every fan. Their most recent album release, History Books, and follow up EP, History Books (Short Stories), prove that despite the hiatus, The Gaslight Anthem is still at the top of their game and ready to rock now more than ever.

The Gaslight Anthem electrifies the room, with the audience dancing against the barrier all the way to the back of the venue. The energy is light and easy as the audience sings along to each song on the setlist with complete devotion. The band has no problem dominating the audience, and the room throughout the entire setlist, as their energy stays high late into the evening.

Finishing up the final days of the History Books tour, The Gaslight Anthem is truly at the top of their game. They have currently announced three more festival dates in December in Australia and this is not the show to miss for any fan. Follow the Gaslight Anthem on social media for more announcements and check out their latest releases, the full History Books album and the follow up EP, History Books (Short Stories), out now on all streaming services.
